   [2]Kudzu is a medicinal and decorative plant in Japan, but in the U.S.
   Southeast, it's a destructive, invasive species. Areas like North
   Carolina have near-perfect conditions for kudzu to grow â hot, humid
   summers, frequent rainfall, temperate winters with few hard freezes.
   Without those low freezing temperatures, kudzu grows out of control.
   From a plane, you can see how much of the land in the area is
   overtaken by Kudzu.
