   As far as I understand things, Israel is bombing some targets outside
   of Hizbollah's stronghold in the South with the hope that this will
   somehow result in the ejection of Hizbullah.

   But, as far as I know, if the the government of Lebanon and majority
   of the people were able to eject Syria and Iran's Hizbullah, they
   would have done so a long time ago. That's part of what the [1]Cedar
   Revolution was about.

   I'm not a military strategist, but I'd understand this more if Israel
   were just hitting hitting Hizbullahland. Or Hizbullah's supporters in
   Syria.
