Where No Child Has Gone Before

My wife and I finally saw "Star Trek" last night, at the urgings of
all but one who had seen it. It was amusing, and I always enjoy going
to the Heights Theater, but in a word, this movie was juvenile. I
thought I was watching Nickelodeon. Only many good performances from
the cast of unknowns kept it at all interesting. It was like "The Way
to Eden" in reverse.
This is a common complaint I have with far too many movies and
television programs. The heroes, villains, and "authority figures" are
simply too young by ten years or more, with too much insipid dialog to
match.
And can we now retire the "Ambassador Spock" role? Like, he's so over,
dude.
