   Our son went off to college today. The house is empty already. My wife
   knew this would be hard for her, as his older sister was a commuter
   student and has never been more than 20 minutes away by car. The boy
   is now at the University of Minnesota Morris, a little early to start
   football practice.
   My wife sees the house as half empty, me half full, proud of him,
   happy for him, even a little envious of him. But then I think of doing
   15-18 credit hours at my age, no, been there, done that. I'll just
   study hard at SCSU Scholars.
   What will no doubt help is seeing him next weekend when we bring the
   rest of his stuff to his permanent dorm room, then the weekly football
   games. We don't expect him to start of course, but we're both eager to
   become avid Cougar fans until he does.
