Republican Race Heating Up

On the Democratic side it's starting to look like a two-person race,
Clinton or Obama. Which is exciting to watch. The Republican race is a
smidge more exciting, if only because it seems more fluid at the
moment. Case in point: [1]apparently Fred Thompson is surging in South
Carolina. Well I'm not surprised; I figured his suddenly finding some
fire in his belly would help him.

I'd have a hard time voting for Thompson, and if it's Hillary vs.
Thompson I'll vote Hillary. If it's McCain vs. Hillary, I'll vote
McCain. If it's Obama vs. either McCain or Thompson, then I vote for
Not-Obama. Yet obviously, there's still time for Guiliani to make a
last-minute comeback in Florida, and Romney is sincerely hoping he can
surge in Michigan and that that'll bring him back.

It's fun to watch. It's also kinda nice to have candidates on both
sides of the aisle I can comfortably vote for. Not that there'll ever
be a candidate I agree with 100%, but with most basically seeming
   sensible, I'm somewhat gratified.
