Detailed Iowa Results

I was a bit surprised to have to do a little hunting this morning to
find out the exact results of Iowa. Call me anal, I always want to
know the numbers. But it looks like Democrats had twice the turnout
that Republicans did, and, the results looked like this:

   Democrats:

Obama: 38% Edwards: 30% Clinton: 29% Richardson: 2% Everybody else:
   less than 2%.

   Republicans:

   Huckabee: 34% Romney: 25% McCain: 13% Thompson: 13% Paul: 10%
   Guiliani: 4%

As much as I dislike Obama the man, I admit to being slightly psyched
to see a biracial man do so well in Iowa. I can't vote for him--he's
too fundamentally wrong on Iraq--but it's nice to see that supposedly
lily-white racist Iowa can beat the Democratic establishment and do
   well there.

I of course can't support Huckabee either, so it's not a partisan
thing, although I suppose if they were each their respective parties'
nominee I'd hold my nose and vote Huckabee solely on the issue that
matters most to me (finishing the job in Iraq). But if it were Huck
vs. Hillary I'd take Hillary in a heartbeat.

Anyway, I'm pleased to see that Ron Paul got only 10% in an anemic,
low-turnout Republican caucus, but am a bit depressed he got as much
   as 10%.

I'm also going to be very curious to see: will the Clinton and McCain
and Guiliani campaigns do well with their plans to try to win in later
primaries and caucuses? Or will these results propel the likes of
Obama and the Huckster into a string of victories? This should be
quite a show to watch the next few weeks.
