WorldNetDaily Corrects Itself

I have no problems using WorldNetDaily because I think it's a
trustworthy source. I've never, not once, seen it misrepresent a story
or twist facts to say something they don't.

Until now. I don't wish to talk about the content of the article but
you can read it for yourself [1]here.

In the article the writer accuses the United Nations of doing
something it could not have possible done. I wrote Mr. Unruh and the
text of that e-mail is as follows:

     Dear Mr. Unruh,

In your article titled about the U.N. using Spider-Man you state:

"The effort is being led by French filmmaker Romuald Sciora and is
not the first time the U.N. has resorted to using a children's
forum, such as comics, for its messages: During World War II
Captain America was used to battle Hitler."

The United Nations was established in response to the League of
Nation's inability to prevent World War 2 on June 26, 1945. VE Day
was May 6 and May 7, 1945. Thus, it would be impossible for the
U.N. to have used Captain America in comic books to fight Hitler
and Nazism as the United Nations didn't even exist until after
     Germany fell.

It's true that Marvel Comic depicted Captain America fighting Nazis
in their publications but it had no connection at all with United
Nations, as you imply it did.

I'm no fan of the United Nations, believe me, but I think it's
important to be accurate when you attribute actions to them it
would have been impossible for them to have committed.

Mr. Unruh has since contacted me and stated the article would be
   corrected.

I've never contacted any news source about inaccuracies in its
reporting but I thought it important to contact WND about this trivial
error because I do trust them and I don't wish, as I say in my letter,
actions attributed to the U.N. it could not have done.

Indeed, I don't wish anyone to be blamed or given credit for something
   they had no part in.

I'm glad to see WorldNetDaily was quick to respond to me and correct
   itself.

I hope this encourages people here that have issues with WND's
reporting to personally contact them if they think WND got a story
wrong. I'm going to continue to source them for various posts I make
and as they've never been inaccurate before (at least not in any way
I've seen or have had pointed out to me) I'd like others to give them
   a second glance.
