   Another fake story from the left about U.S. troops? Color me
   [1]shocked.
   Tellingly, 1300+ comments later, the post by [2]Maccabee has
   disappeared. And Kos himself seems to be [3]disavowing the story and
   chiding the Kossacks for buying it, but really this is the problem
   with any community site that rigidly enforces ideological conformity
   and values passion over critical reasoning: it's a great formula for
   getting a lot of members and page views, but it virtually assures much
   of the content will be tendentious and factually questionable.
   It's worth noting that Maccabee isn't someone who just showed up at
   DKos this weekend; he's been there for [4]years and was
   [5]well-regarded. This kind of self-reinforcing groupthink is just not
   a healthy dynamic.
