Racist Bonehead Move by Biden

   Senator Joe Biden's usually a reasonable guy but his recent proposal
   to impose a breakup of the legitimately elected democratic nation of
   Iraq, tearing it up into three separate nations, smacks of the worst
   sort of racist and imperialist hubris that the left is so fond of
   accusing the right of. [1]Iraqis from all over the political spectrum
   have condemned this, and no surprise; poll after poll of the Iraqi
   people have shown that the vast majority of them want a single, united
   Iraq. Only the Kurds have any enthusiasm for a separate state, and
   even they are content with the status quo.

   What's needed, Senator Biden, is to stop pretending we've already lost
   in Iraq--defeatism isn't just pointless, it's outright harmful--but to
   continue our excellent work in quelling the murderous fascist
   "insurgency" so that the Iraqi political process can become more
   functional. Then the Iraqis can solve their own problems.
