Quick Debate Take

   Again, there are far too many people up there. They should restrict
   the debate to the top five candidates.
   Among the candidates themselves, I thought Rudy had the best night,
   seizing the initiative to attack Ron Paul's assertion that 9/11 was
   the result of U.S. policy; [1]as Bill Ardolino notes, it's great to
   have someone who can articulate complex issues and the Dems should be
   scared to death of what Rudy will do to their candidate in a general
   election campaign. McCain was a strong second with his declaration
   that he'd be the last man standing on Iraq. In contrast to last time,
   Romney seemed less Presidential and more like someone who only looks
   Presidential. The others got off some nice lines here and there
   (particularly the [DEL: Kevin Spacey :DEL] Mike Huckabee "spending
   like John Edwards in a beauty shop" barb), but certainly didn't vault
   themselves into contention.
   Unlike the [2]Instapolled, I still think Fred needs to get off the
   couch and into the debates, but he did manage to [3]acquit himself
   pretty well this week.
