Critiquing the News
http://www.deanesmay.com/posts/1178883066.shtml
In pre-blogging days, I used to spend most of my Sunday mornings
e-mailing reporters and editors, pointing out errors and discrepancies
when they occurred in their reporting. I got positive replies just
often enough to be encouraged that not all reporters were completely
willing to believe the nonsense so often dished out by those with a
radical feminist agenda.
Once I started blogging, the time for that particular exercise
dwindled to almost nothing. Right now, even blogging has had to take a
back seat to other concerns.
So I was really excited when I heard about [1]Newstrust, which really
looks like a good step in the right direction for things like accuracy
and fact.
Not only have they [2]taken steps to get a variety of viewpoints
represented, they've actually responded to my suggestion that if
they're going to have a women's issues section, then it's only fair to
also have a men's issues section. (My alternate suggestion was that
they eliminate the women's issues section, because after all, most of
the so-called "women's issues" are a lot less exclusive than that.)
I'm told they expect to have a section for men's issues stories
sometime next week.
I can hardly wait until I get a day off so I can really look around
some more!
J.D. Lasica has some video [3]here about how the site works. I don't
think you still need an invite to join, but if you do, shoot me an
e-mail (twschuettATpeoplepcDOTcom) and I'll invite.
