   An [1]idea whose time has come?
   OK, probably not. Still, while I'm not sure legalization is the best
   answer, I am increasingly skeptical that trying to solve the problem
   of drug abuse via the criminal justice system accomplishes anything
   useful for anyone -- except for drug dealers, who are the
   beneficiaries of incredibly exaggerated artificial profit margins
   (about 10,000% according to [2]this book).
   You would think conservatives of all people would understand the
   danger of market distortions, but whenever this issue comes up. it
   seems that either they're experiencing massive confirmation bias or
   their anti-fun gene kicks in.
