   Aziz has an interesting piece up at Nation-Building arguing that
   [1]the Taliban is back and Al Gore was right.

   Can't say I'm as impressed with Gore's prescience as Aziz is, since I
   found most of those statements fairly easy and obvious to make and
   many as questionable now as they were back then; they were the
   standard line for a lot of people back then, and still are. They've
   never made much sense to me.

   That said, it's pretty clear that Gore's in the cat-bird seat here.
   He's running the 1968 Nixon playbook perfectly, and has been all
   along. He knew on September 11th that a re-run for the White House in
   2004 was impossible for him, and retooling with 2008 in mind was what
   he'd have to do.

   Since he's wanted the Presidency his whole life, there's nothing wrong
   with noting any of this by the way. He might even make a good
   President.
