   Technology, as Dave Price implies in his post below, is changing
   everything. One of the main ways it is doing so is by affecting,
   wildly, our privacy. I wrote [1]here about how readily people will
   give up their privacy. Other people, on the other hand, don't give up
   theirs voluntarily -- but at least technology can not only empower,
   but snag, [2]creeps like this -- a guy who was sticking his secret
   webcam in women's offices at Legal Aid in New York, the better to see
   them with. What a pathetic, but also scary, story.

   The brave new world is a boon for me, but I could hardly blame anyone
   who just wanted to crawl back into the privacy hole.
