   For a Christmas present, my dear wife told me she'd like a good coffee
   machine. We didn't have one.

   I decided to carefully research it before buying. After considerable
   research, I settled upon this: [1]Melitta MEMB1B Mill & Brew 10-Cup
   Coffeemaker.

   You take whole coffee beans, and spoon them into a reservoir. You pour
   water into another reservoir. You set the timer, and you go to bed.

   At the appointed time, the coffee beans are ground up, and then the
   water flows through it to make a pot of Joe through a stainless-steel
   filter.

   All I can tell you is, in the early morning suddenly there is a
   grinding sound, and the Esmay kitchen suddenly smells of coffee. Then
   the brewing begins. You step into the shower, and then you come out,
   and you've got a merrily aromatic brew just waiting for you, smelling
   up the joint. It is a beautiful thing.

   Don't kid yourself. A can of freshly-ground Maxwell House or whatever
   doesn't taste even half as good. It really doesn't. The fresh-ground
   stuff is infinitely smoother and more pleasant.
