The Debate Begins Anew
http://www.deanesmay.com/posts/1168118836.shtml
It's been interesting to watch all the pundits and everyone else
saying it's now over in Iraq and time to abandon the effort as quickly
as possible.
Having watched and participated in these debates for a good solid four
years now, I've watched this cycle repeat itself endlessly. We're now
back in the "it's already lost, eject! eject! eject!" mode, which we
get into at least once or twice a year.
Now that the new Congress is sworn in, the debate can begin again, and
those declaring the debate finished will be frustrated once again to
learn that their arguments about the "debacle" and the "incompetently
handled, unplanned disaster" are far from obviously correct.
Mark Noonan begins it anew: [1]Some questions Democrats must be forced
to answer (and, I'd add, the defeatist Republicans as well),
and: [2]War and Politics.
Fortunately, I'm confident we won't be leaving Iraq any time soon. I
do think it's time to start anew in explaining to people with short
attention spans what's really critical here.
