Calling Robertson To Account
http://www.deanesmay.com/posts/1167922898.shtml

Dean may not have enough sadism in him to document all of Pat
Robertsonâs false predictions but I sensed there was someone out there
in the global-hyper-interweb that was. While I didnât find exactly
what I was looking for [1]this is close enough. Iâm a bit
uncomfortable linking it because it comes from a source obviously
hostile to the faith in general but it seems accurate enough.

To be fair I canât blame them. Christianâs have given enemies of the
faith much of the ammo it uses simply because we do not hold our
leaders accountable. We let them skirt by with nary a glance and we
get upset when our enemies point out that our leaders donât maintain
the standard they set for others. Thatâs the very definition of
hypocrisy and we let it slide.

This must change. If we are to survive and be a witness to the world
we must hold our leaders to the standard that Scripture demands. And
when a leader claims a prophecy came from God and it doesnât come to
pass then that leader must be dealt with quickly. Theyâve allowed a
familiar spirit into their life and they cannot be allowed to speak on
behalf of the Church until they get right with their Lord.

The world is watching what we do. We need to show them that we are
consistent in our application of the Word. For the good of his
ministry Pat Robertson needs to step down until such a time that the
elders within his church deem him ready to reclaim the mantle of
   leadership.

Christians need not only make themselves accountable to their Lord but
also to one another. I cannot speak on Mr. Robertsonâs condition on
the former but it appears to me heâs woefully lacking on the latter.
The people that support his ministry, and itâs a ministry that has
done a lot of good the world over, must make it clear to him that his
conduct is unacceptable and outside Biblical standards. He needs to
fast and pray for a time and let the world see that no leader is above
Scripture. He needs to let the world see that Scripture is equally
applied to all members of the faith with no respect for title or
   position.

If he doesnât, well, why should anyone listen to what he has to say?
