Digital Rights Management
http://www.deanesmay.com/posts/1170932945.shtml
Steve Jobs of Apple Computer has published an [1]proposing to end
Digital Rights Management software in music.
Digital Rights Management being what we old-timers in the computer
industry used to call "copy protection."
Copy protection is stupid. I agree with Jobs.
I am a little more sympathetic to the music industry on this than I am
the movie and television industries, though. They're going to have a
harder time finding alternative paths to making money. But, short of
creating a police state to protect the interests of the music
industry, they're going to have to bite the bullet and find those
alternative means.
The Wall Street Journal has a [2]pretty good look at the issue from
all sides, though.
