FInally Saw the Democratic Debate in Chicago

Thanks to the miracle of the modern DVR, I finally this evening
watched the Democratic Presidential debate at Soldier Field in Chicago
that was hosted earlier this week.

   Here's my basic impressions:

Kucinich, who is the Socialist version of Ron Paul, had some great
applause lines and actually sounded sane at a few points, but is a
joke. (I consider Socialists and Libertarians equally insane, FYI).

Bill Richardson is the most serious candidate in the race. But he
won't win the nomination. Even if he's wrong on Iraq (as are all the
other Democratic candidates) on domestic and foreign policy he'd
probably be a great President. Too bad, so sad, ain't gonn happen.

Joe Biden is the most sane and experienced on foreign policy on the
stage. He'd make a great Secretary of State. He will never be
   President.

Hillary: Probably our next President. On domestic issues I'm with her
50/50, but on foreign policy, at least for a Democrat, she's as sane
as Joe Biden, and that's a good thing. I normally think that Senators
make horrible Presidential candidates--I do, search my archives--but
she's unique in having been a First Lady and a politico for so much of
her life. Otherwise I'd dismiss her as a lightweight, but she isn't.
"Unique" is the only word I can think of for her. In fact, let me pay
her the ultimate compliment: no credible person will ever claim she's
Bill Clinton's sock puppet. It just won't happen.

John Edwards: Reminds me of Bill Clinton Lite, circa 1988. If the
election were entirely about domestic issues, I might even vote for
him, if it were about that. Too bad he's so totally wrong on foreign
policy I'd vote for Satan first.

Obama: Dude. Run for Governor of Illinois. Serve at least four years
there. Then you might be a decent President. Otherwise, I'm just not
buying it, because you have -zero- experience as an executive beyond a
small Senator's staff. Yes, a black President would be the best thing
to happen to this country in a hundred years--if he was a good one.
You prolly ain't it. You are "eloquent," and that's no basis upon
which to vote for a black (or white, or asian, or hispanic) man or
   woman.

The rest of the field: who else was there? I forget.
