Question

I'm probably going to get into trouble over this post. If you know me,
you'll recognize that I tend not to ask rhetorical questions so, when
I ask this, I'm really looking for information.

What's the real evidence that Iran, the Arab countries of the Gulf,
and Pakistan are combined in some sort of grand alliance against the
United States, the UK, Europe? I.e, "the West"?

I have no doubt that all of those countries have radical Islamists,
some very highly placed, who'd like to see such a thing and that, in
the case of Iran, those radical Islamists probably are the government.
It may even be true that the "Arab street" would like to see such a
   thing.

But I don't believe that the governments of these countries (again,
with the likely exception of Iran) are actively colluding in this way.
While I believe that they have little love for us, I think that Arab
nationalism and the interests of the leadership in these countries
(particularly in the KSA) very nearly precludes such a thing.

So, what's the evidence? Not theories, dogma, or motives. Real
   evidence.
