Watergate Redux

   Consider the following:

The President is upset about leaks to the press and hires a private
investigating firm to determine the sources of the leaks. In one
incident, the PI's called the phone company and pretended to be one of
the suspected leakers within the administration, using the last 4
digits of his social security number to have a statement containing
the calls made by the suspected source sent electronically to a Yahoo!
   email account.

Using this same technique of impersonation, known as "pre-texting",
the investigators get the phone records of several reporters for CNET,
the Wall Street Journal and several other news organizations.

Using these methods, the PI's track down the leaker, present their
results to the President, and the President forces him to resign.

   Sound ethical to you?

Well, aside from the President really being HP's Chairman Patricia
Dunn and NOT Richard M. Nixon, the story seems to have eerie
similarities to the infamous Watergate break-in. And like Watergate,
the question is fast becoming who knew what when? Does the scandal
reach Dunn's desk? Read [1]this, this and [2]this to decide for
   yourself.

My take? Corporations don't have the accountability that the President
has. However like Nixon Dunn should resign immediately.
