The Carnival of the Liberated

Welcome to the Carnival of the Liberated, a sampler of some of the
best posts of the week from Iraqi and Afghani bloggers. This week we
have the deal between Pakistan and the tribes, the militias, danger
   everywhere, and much more.

[1]Afghan Warrior posts on the agreement between the government of
   Pakistan and the tribal militias.

[2]24 Steps to Liberty complains that there are other militias, other
Shi'ite militias in Iraq than the Mahdi army. And that the Mahdi army
seems to get undo attention from the U. S. forces.

[3]An Iraqi Tear is upset with Condoleezza Rice. To say the least.

Miraj of [4]Baghdad Chronicles tells the story of her cousin's life.

[5]Roads to Iraq translates an article about James Baker's visit to
   Iraq.

Mohammed of [6]Iraq the Model's post may, perhaps, be best summarized
with an old proverb: he who hesitates is lost. Would Mohammed's
prescription have been politically acceptable in the United States?

Marshmallow26 of [7]It is all about our life is bored with the curfew
   in Baghdad.

Miriam of [8]Pearls of Iraq is organizing a book drive.

Alaa of [9]The Mesopotamian appears to be posting again and I must say
that I've missed him: he's one of the better analysts in the Iraqi
blogosphere, sort of an Iraqi Wretchard. In the linked post he
proposed three laws for the U. S. policy with respect to Iraq.

[10]Then Some! draws a connection from the recent poisoning of Iraqi
   policemen and the novel Catch-22.

[11]Truth About Iraqis has a series of sixteen harsh claims and I have
no doubt that there a lot of people (particularly in Iraq) who believe
   all sixteen.

Zappy of [12]Where Date Palms Grow reports that nobody is safe in
Baghdad today. In a separate post he notes that his daughter narrowly
escaped the explosion of a bomb planted by "Them" near her school.

Dave Schuler posts regularly to his own weblog, [13]The Glittering
Eye. The Carnival was originally conceived by Ryan Boots.
