   Some commenters have wondered why I still care about Foley when N.
   Korea has nukes. They believe that America is better off with
   Republicans in charge because Democrats donât have a clue how to deal
   with N. Korea or Iraq or Iran.

   Well, from where Iâm sitting (North Koreaâs most likely target, thank
   you), the Republican Congress has seemed more interested in raiding
   the public treasury for the gratification of their own party
   leadership, while passing laws aimed directly at overturning
   everything that makes America great. Meanwhile the President has been
   viewing his office as an extension of his own ego, and is simply
   incapable of dealing with any issue with an answer more complicated
   than âhit it with a rockâ...

   Better off with Republicans? This would be a laughable statement if it
   werenât so frightening. You may not like the Democrats, but at least
   their answers havenât been proven failures. I wasnât a Democrat until
   years after the Republican Party gained unfettered access to the
   levers of power. In those years, terrorism has gotten worse, America
   has lost the presumption of the Moral High ground, North Korea has
   detonated a nuke, and Iran has started working on one. Perhaps these
   things would have happened with different American policies. The
   policies of our Republican leaders has made them inevitable...
