Do A Little Dance Part Yksi (The Lightening Up Series for Winter Solstice)

Mary grabbed my arm and said: "You HAVE to watch this. Listen to me
for God's sake. It is the greatest thing in the world. Alexander and I
are obsessed with this guy. Wait till you see him. You are going to be
so happy. Stay right there and do not move."
Like the epic female friendships, ours, since college, revolves around
laughter, what Jessica Mitford called "simply roaring."
On this particular day I was ultra grouchy for about 250 reasons and
saw no humor in anything. But Mary had my arm in such an urgent grip I
knew she was quite serious so I stood stock still while she booted it
up.
As I watched it the first 30 seconds or so, a radiating joy spread
through my body and I started to fall down until I was on my knees,
then on my side in a fetal position, tears streaming, laughing so damn
hard and yelping helplessly.
Now, this may be too much of a build up because Mary and Daisy and I
have always had a Laugh club in which we find things upROARiously
funny and others don't. We are still laughing hard about things that
happened 20 years ago, and it could just be a turn of phrase somebody
used. Once we got a joke into our inner ear and we were staying at a
motel in Virginia Beach and we literally had to crawl to our room. Me
Mary and her mother, all crawling and howling. Nobody could even cope
with the key in the lock; We just rolled around and lay on the floor
in the corridor repeating the ONE funny line. But you had to be there.
I can't explain it of course. It's FEMALE humor. Also, it was like 10
years ago, after a narrow escape, one of many.
Mary is one of the funniest people I know.
So before we get to the great thing I want to create some Blog
Suspense, if such things exist, and also announce a contest.
The winner of a yet to be announced prize will be he or she who first
guesses what language this is. This is part of of a three part short
film series. Ready?
ENJOY.
