Michael Steele Picks Up Major Democratic Endorsement

   A group of prominent Democrats in Maryland has recently endorsed
   Republican Michael Steele for Senate. [1]Jay Bryant has more details.

   Steele is the first black person elected to any statewide office in
   Maryland history. He's now the Lt. Governor and is looking to become
   the next US Senator from his state.

   I don't live in Maryland so what I have to say shouldn't matter much,
   but, I do support Steele. Not because he's a Republican, but because I
   think it's bad for the country that we don't have more black Americans
   in the Senate. I also think it's particularly important to support
   black Republicans, not because they're Republicans but because it's
   just plain unhealthy when one party so dominates the black community.
   And I mean it's unhealthy for the entire country.
