The Carnival of the Liberated

Welcome to the Carnival of the Liberated, a sampler of some of the
best posts of the week from Iraqi and Afghani bloggers. This week
we've got more fraud, forming a new government, tragedies, new Iraqi
blogs, and much, much more.
Mama of [1]Emotions... has a heart-rending story of extracting a
tooth.
Although fraudulent reports of [2]atrocities may be rapidly debunked,
their real harm is that they will be reported as true forever by folks
like [3]Imad Khadduri.
I was rather surprised at the lack of comment on the announcement of
the [4]forming of a new government in Iraq on Saturday from the Iraqi
blogosphere. Not a good sign. Mohammed of [5]Iraq the Model does put
in his two cents, however. Ishtar of [6]Iraqi Screen weighs in on the
story. [7]neurotic iraqi wife isn't too pleased with the performance
of the Iraqi government so far.
Iraqi Screen continues to have lots of good stuff. I found [8]this
perspective on sectarian war in Iraq particularly interesting: she
believes you can mark the beginning of sectarian war in Iraq from the
start of Saddam's trial. The start of sectarian war or the beginning
of the counter-attack by Kurds and Shi'a?
[9]Iraqi Roulette posts a profound truth: at some point the
accumulating tragedies cease to be tragedies, they just are.
[10]Treasure of Baghdad has some really horrifying stories. One is
particularly ghastly: a story of groups of people purportedly from the
health ministry poisoning children when "inoculating" them.
There are several new Iraqi bloggers (at least new to me). Take a look
at Meemo at [11]Show Time. Hat tip: [12]Asterism. I don't know where
[13]Thought Riot is blogging from (I suspect the United States) but
she's apparently Iraqi. Hat tip: [14]Where Date Palms Grow. At this
point [15]Baghdad Connect appears to be a news aggregator. Hat tip:
[16]Iraq Blog Count.
Dave Schuler posts regularly to his own weblog, [17]The Glittering
Eye. The Carnival was originally conceived by Ryan Boots.
