Iraq's Gov't To Be Announced Saturday

     Iraqi prime minister designate Nuri al-Maliki will submit his
     cabinet line-up for parliamentary approval on Saturday after months
     of political wrangling, a senior parliamentary official said.
     "The prime minister will present a new government to parliament for
     approval at 11 am (0700 GMT) on Saturday," deputy speaker Khalid
     al-Attiya told AFP.

   Lately what's been on my mind is the fact the average
   counter-insurgency lasts nine years. The violent tribal pathologies of
   Baathism sunk deep, deep roots into Sunni Iraqi society. It's going to
   take time before that portion of Iraq is anything like the Mideast
   model of freedom and prosperity we all hope it can be, but this
   national unity government is another big step on that path.
