   [EMBED]

This song reminds me very of those who opposed taking Saddam out by
force, and who still talk about abandoning the Iraqi people by
unilateral withdrawl. It also makes me think of those who make excuses
for the brutal regimes in places like Iran and Syria and Saudi Arabia,
who are in the habit of saying that the people there are not
interested in freedom and democracy as we understand them, sort of
like how the blacks really didn't care about the vote and in their
hearts supported segregation and Jim Crow.

It makes me think even more of those who, even today, go so far as to
suggest that our liberal values are the fundamental cause of
terrorism, and that if we would just stop making the fascists angry,
they would stop attacking free people, and would stop opressing those
   who yearn to be fre.

Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck,
for the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
for the sun to rot, for a tree to drop,
here is a strange and bitter crop.
