   The SpaceX rocket got off the ground, but [1]apparently not much
   farther than that.

     =E2We had a successful liftoff and Falcon made it well clear of the
     launch pad, but unfortunately the vehicle was lost later in the
     first stage burn,=E2 SpaceX chief Elon Musk said in an update posted
     to his El Segundo, California-based firm=E2s website.

   Well, that's disappointing. Call me crazy, but it's times like this
   that make me wonder if massive controlled explosions are really the
   best way to move things into orbit.
