My notes more or less as I watch:

Gedeon: For the life of me I don't understand the enthusiasm for this
   guy.

He would make a very competent backup singer. Maybe a good member of a

   vocal quartet or quintet.

Chris: Don't care for this song at all. His delivery is solid. Still a
   very

good chance this guy's going to win this competition. Cowell's remarks
   are

right on target. Honestly he could have made that a better song with a
   more

   intense performance.

Kevin: It's hard not to like this kid's spunk. It's also hard not to
   be

annoyed by his warbling voice. I have always liked this Don McLean
   song.

But... I think he's going home. Good job making it this far, and at
   age 16!

The future's bright, but not this year.

Bucky: I'm surprised. Genuinely. This is Bucky's best performance yet.
   I

really liked that. I was assuming he was going home this week but now
   I'm

not so sure at all. I think this guy could front a really good
   southern

   rock / alternative country group.

Will: Okay, Peter Brady Sings! Whatever. I hate to be rude, but he's a

competent singer, and that's all he is. Going home?

Taylor: Okay boy, don't let me down now. Last week you were kind of
   boring.

I have never liked this MIchael McDonald song. If anyone could make me
   like

it he could. Vocally that was great. (Oh yeah, and I'm standing by it:
probable hemiplagia affecting his right side, mostly successfully
treated as a child. Nevertheless it's probably going to be his
   undoing, because people are shallow.)

Elliot: This guy needs to be singing movie soundtracks. And I mean
   that as

a compliment. Very talented singer. Boring song but Randy is right, I

honestly look forward to his singing. He's not going to win, but he's
   not

going home this week. (Oh, and Paula is overdosed on her pain meds
   again.

   Sigh.)

Ace: Okay, he's got the entire package for teen pop idol stardom. I
wanted to slap him, but the girls couldn't help but scream. Cowell is
completely correct that he worked the song so well the flaws were
non-obvious. This guy may also win this thing.

   Final analysis:

The Winner: Taylor on talent, Ace on sex appeal to girls.

Probably going home: Will and Kevin. Country fans keep Bucky in the
   running.
