   I was pretty moved by this John Taylor Gatto essay from Harper's:
   [1]Against Public Schools: How Public Education Cripples Our Kids, And
   Why.

   He manages to hit on everything I found miserable and stifling about
   school as a kid. As I read it I found myself worried for my sons.
   While so far the older son, who's 8, is doing pretty well and seems to
   be in a pretty good program, I doubt it'll stay that way. Yet we don't
   have the resources to home school.
