   I've been hearing for quite some time now--as in, decades--that
   America is "falling behind" other countries in engineering and science
   graduates. I tend to grow skeptical of predictions that I've been
   hearing for more than a decade. But, I found [1]this Robert Samuelson
   piece on the subject refreshing. Samuelson says the problem is
   somewhat overblown and we really aren't "falling behind" all that
   dramatically, but, there are definite problems getting people into the
   sciences and keeping them there.

   What do you think?
