   Austin Bay's got a [1]terrific column illustrating how many of us
   think.

   It's odd to live in a world where we can think of a few thousand
   radicals with a few hundred thousand or million sympathizers as the
   equivalent of the Japanese Empire or the Soviet Union, but when
   technology brings us to the point where we have to worry about
   lunatics blowing up the CN Tower or the World Trace Center, it's hard
   for some of us not to think in those terms.

   What's interesting is that the debates amongst the hawks are almost as
   fierce as among the doves.

   Ah well that's how it's supposed democratic freedom's supposed to
   work, right?
