   Bit of a soap opera over at [1]Swords Crossed, with Armando accusing
   me of "dishonesty," claiming I'm a "rabid Republican" who only
   pretends to be a classical liberal, and threatening to shut the site
   down. Personally, I find the whole thing fairly amusing; kind of
   reminds me of junior high, except with hyperlinks.
   Looking back on the threads where we jousted, I think it's clear
   Armando wasn't expecting me to adduce evidence for positions he
   believes are wrong, and found it greatly upsetting (in particular, the
   recently translated Iraqi memos and the Abu Zubaydah briefing showing
   Iraqi support for Al Qaeda seemed to infuriate him), forcing him to
   resort to numerous ad hominems like claiming I was "delusional" or
   "dishonest," the linked evidence I supplied notwithstanding. It's not
   surprising, really; I see the same thing from some on the right when
   forced to confront facts that contradict their worldview. Empiricism
   is a harsh mistress, as I've learned (such an outlook having forced me
   to change my views on several issues over the past few years) and not
   many seem have the temperament to live by rational principles.
   So, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm kicked off shortly, or the site is
   shut down. All in all, I would greet the news with a shrug and a
   chuckle. Kinda prove my point, wouldn't it?
