   Oh man this track smokes.

Buddy Guy is one of those musicians who musicians all know, but most
people don't. He's even in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was a
contemporary of Jimi Hendrix's, and actually Jimi learned a lot from
him. Indeed, a lot of Hendrix's playing with distortion and feedback
and wild improvisation, and stage antics, were clearly inspired
directly by Buddy Guy. Some say Buddy's biggest mistake was not going
to England when he had the chance to in the 1960s. Jimi went over
there and became an instant celebrity--literally.

This is a kind of nice short retrospective on Buddy. If you find the
Muddy Waters stuff boring, you can skip ahead about a minute and a
half and enjoy his version of Red House.

But then, near the middle, right at about a 4 minutes and 30
   seconds... wow.

That version of Voodoo Child with [1]Angelique Kidjo has to be the
hottest thing I've heard in the last year.

It's taken from [2]Lightning in a Bottle: A One Night History of the
Blues, which is quite worth owning.
