   This guy is, in an odd sort of way, a sort of stepdad to me. Even
   though I never met him. Indeed, his parents knew mine in El Paso,
   growing up.

   Isn't that weird?

   Yet most people don't know his name. Even though they know his great
   song. Isn't that odder?

   My mom knew him though. Intimately.
