Huge push-back day in the state supreme courts

   Three of four stories in the AP US News are about state supreme courts
   essentially delivering small-c conservative verdicts, including two of
   three in states where you might not have expected it:

      against gay marriage[3]Ga. top court reinstates gay marriage ban

   A couple of years ago the talk in legal / political circles was the
   state courts would be the judicial sugar-daddies for liberal causes
   that the U.S. Supreme Court has (sometimes) declined to be. Not so
   fast, perhaps.
