Mexico Update

It appears that the center-left candidate Obrador is [1]not going to
give up quietly after apparently losing in Sunday's election for
   President.

Let's hope the elections are found to have been reasonably clean (no
election involving millions of voters is ever 100% perfect, there are
always irregularities, always) and that whoever ultimately comes out
and top and whoever loses does so with good grace. For if ou don't
respect the system then ultimately you will have chaos.

By the way, this is one of the many reasons why a system like the
electoral college is so useful. The Mexicans are now facing a
nationwide recount, rather than a recount in one or two states. And if
there are any irregularities in the recounts anywhere in the entire
country, a sore loser candidate will have every reason to demand yet
   another, and another.
