   Well, I sort of assumed things like [1]this wouldn't happen.

     The new Democratic majority in Congress wants to keep the
     government operating under a streamlined funding resolution for the
     rest of the fiscal year and not attempt to complete the individual
     spending bills abandoned by the outgoing Republican leadership.

   And Glenn notes that they're [2]forgoing earmarks. Of course, the big
   test will come with the next budget fight, and I remain pessimistic
   the party's trend toward limited spending will continue. Still, this
   is pleasingly man-bites-dog.
