The Carnival of the Liberated
http://www.deanesmay.com/posts/1165936454.shtml
Welcome to the Carnival of the Liberated, a sampler of some of the
best posts of the week from Iraqi and Afghan bloggers. This week we
have a mysterious trip, the Baker report, Al-Hakim, and much, much
more.
[1]Afghan Lord continues telling us about his mysterious trip (with
pictures).
[2]Afghan Warrior reports on NATO activities in Afghanistan.
[3]Baghdad Connect has some grandfatherly advice for George Bush and
Tony Blair.
The consensus view among Iraqi bloggers seems to be pretty well-stated
by [4]Roads to Iraq: the Baker report brought nothing to Iraqis.
[5]Iraqi Confused Kid introduces the Iraq Civil War videogame.
I usually avoid linking to posts from Iraqi ex-pat bloggers in the
CotL but this account of [6]Sayyid Abdul Al-Hakim's visit to London
from Eye Raki was too interesting to pass over.
[7]First words, first walk, first...in Iraq tells us about the "three
phrases that have degenerated Arabs".
Is it really true that the reason that the violence continues in Iraq
is that the U. S. is tying the hands of the Iraqi government, [8]as
Hammorabi suggests?
Mohammed of [9]Iraq the Model considers the implications of increased
oil revenue (which happens as oil prices rise even if Iraqi production
doesn't increase) for Iraq.
Another post from an Iraqi ex-pat: [10]Fayrouz in Beaumont comments on
the Iraqi women's beach volleyball team (which will be competing in
the Asian Games). You heard right.
Okay, while I'm linking to the posts of Iraqi ex-pats I may as well
link to [11]IraqPundit's critique of the Baker report, too.
I found this rambling but informative [12]post from neurotic iraqi
wife touching.
[13]The Mesopotamian testifies before the tribunal of history.
Dave Schuler posts regularly to his own weblog, [14]The Glittering
Eye. The Carnival was originally conceived by Ryan Boots.
