Campaign Memories

I don't have much opinion of Bobby Kennedy. I think his older brother
Jack was horribly overrated and not a particularly good President.
Those who idolize him can rarely give any specifics of what they think
he accomplished in his 3 years that was so memorable, besides being
handsome and dashing and giving a couple of good speeches. I rarely
bother to point out the down side.
Bobby I always thought a little better of. The way he went after the
Mob, even after the Mob helped his brother get elected, was rather
admirable to me. And of course his assassination was unforgivable.
In any case, Bob Doyle remembers working for the Bobby Kennedy
campaign. Interesting stories he has there. I found the stories of
corruption in politics particularly interesting. I think most people
today really have no idea how much more clean and fair and uncorrupt
the American political system is today by comparison to what it was
like just 40 or 50 years ago.
Anyway, [1]read Doyle's reminiscences here.
