Coffee Depression
http://www.deanesmay.com/posts/1165504927.shtml
I really like coffee. Sometimes black, sometimes with cream and sugar.
Sometimes flavored but usually not.
I'll generally drink several cups if I have it available, but I've
noticed something interesting in the last year or so: if I drink one
too many cups of coffee, I'm suddenly hit with a terrible wave of
depression. It hits me very hard, and lasts for a couple of hours. At
first I didn't recognize that it was the coffee until I noticed that
this depressed feeling was always a little unusual: I felt not just
depressed, but also jittery and nervous. So it's like I'm quite awake
and full of energy, and the universe is a horrible place, I'm a
horrible person, life has no meaning and nothing is ever going to go
right again.
Heh. It's a funny feeling. Now I've learned to moderate my coffee
intake, and if I make a mistake and have one too many I just tell
myself to wait for the bad feelings to go away. In a few hours at
most, they do.
Anyone else experience something like this? It seems to take about 5
cups to send me over the edge like that. It's kinda weird.
