   NASA is [1]planning to establish a permanent moon base starting in
   2020.

   I am a big believer in space exploration and in government having a
   role in it, but NASA's screwed the pooch so many times on manned
   exploration in the last 25 years I have a hard time getting too worked
   up over this. Although I will say that it's a much, much better idea
   than the International Space Station.

   (I'm also tempted to make a [2]Space: 1999 joke, but I'll refrain.)
