   Cory Doctorow is discussing giving away electronic versions of books
   at [1]Forbes. There's much more there on the same page, all about the
   future of publishing.

   John and Dean are doing something like that with [2]Methuselah's
   Daughter, among the first books to evolve from a [3]blog.

   I think what it all boils down to is this: are you willing to share
   your ideas, or are you just interested in making a buck? Back in the
   days when I was the co-owner of an e-publisher, we had the occasional
   author who wanted us to buy their (self-published) hard-copy book
   before we could consider it for publication. Weird, huh?
