Biphonsophonate Drugs & Osteoporosis

Jeffrey Dach says that drugs like Actonel and Fosamax, may have
short-term benefits for osteoporosis patients but that [1]long-term
use may significantly worsen the condition.

By the way, although Dr. Dach doesn't endorse this, the discussion
thread there turned to vegetarian dogma about how animal protein
causes bone loss. It doesn't. My old acquaintances, Dr. Mary Enig &
Sally Fallon, have a [2]good, well-referenced treatise on that. Meat
doesn't cause cause bone loss, although Dach makes a good point about
an acidic diet causing the problem and vegetable protein being
somewhat alkalinizing and thus of some moderate benefit.
