The Council Has Spoken!
http://www.deanesmay.com/posts/1164988737.shtml
The Watcher's Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding
posts of the preceding week. The winning Council post was
[1]Joshuapundit's post, âGenocide? What Genocide?â, on the situation
in Darfur. Second place honors went to [2]Right Wing Nut House's post
âThe Art and Artifice of War Reportingâ.
War reporting was the favored topic for non-Council winning posts,
too. The winning non-Council post was [3]Flopping Aces' post, âGetting
the News from the Enemyâ. The second place non-Council post was my
nomination, [4]Patterico's Pontifications' post, âIs the L. A. Times
Repeating Enemy Propaganda?â. I think the answer is âYesâ and very
clever of our enemies to turn our own news media against us, too. I
honestly don't believe there's any particular malice on the part of
the news media in this, however. I attribute this to small overseas
news budgets (and perhaps lack of willingness on the part of reporters
to brave the danger and dig for stories), laziness, ingrained habits,
and, perhaps, a somewhat misplaced desire to search for what's
referred to as "authenticity".
For a complete list of the results [5]see here.
A seat has become available on the Watcher's Council! If you have a
blog and think you might be interested in becoming a member, [6]see
here for the prerequisites, duties, and instructions.
