   Here's a truly fascinating read: an article by Phillip Longman on
   [1]how VA hospitals went from the worst in the country to the best.
   And it makes some very salient points about how our fractured health
   insurance system currently makes most of the reforms the VA people
   made impossible to implement in the private sector.

   The #1 thing that would help the situation that Longman doesn't
   mention is that we need to completely decouple medical insurance from
   employment. That more than anything else is probably what makes the
   system as ineffective as it is.
