   forget Thoreau's maxim. Reality and theory lie at [1]opposite ends of
   the complexity scale.

   I don't have much to comment on the result form my efforts to debate
   the nature of a lasting peace, other than to observe that none of the
   "final" solutions therein would do one whit to guarantee Israeli
   security, for the next generation. In fact, quite the opposite. Either
   you believe that or you don't; there is no likely middle ground.

   I have one simple rule for dealing with the Israeli Palestine
   conflict: disregard the opinion of any person who believes that one
   side in the conflict has no right to their grievance. And disregard
   any person who says that one side has no reason to compromise.
