I have moved [1]Genetics and Mathematics Question into our [2]Best
   Discussions Archive.

I should note that [3]Razib in particular left some very cogent
remarks, with even more cogent links. All of which deserve to be
digested in their full and not merely glibly responded to. Unless I
miss my guess, he's a geneticist. Regardless, you get a free seminar
on genetics if you just read his comments and follow his links.

Man, this is exactly what I set up Dean's World for.

I note again something I always say: I do not always catch every
comment or closely read every thread that appears here. I just can't
keep up with the firehose of information. No one can. But we highly
value thoughtful discussion. That's why we don't allow just anyone in
the door. We aren't a "free for all" here. Trolls and idiots get
chucked out the door without apology. I think that makes us unique
among blogs: if you click on that "comments" link, you should, 9 times
out of 10, be greeted with interesting (or at least entertaining)
   commentary.

And when I look at that "Best Discussions" archive, I'm very proud of
it. What's in there may annoy you, inflame you, or amuse you, but it's
   all good stuff.

I honestly do not think there is any blog on the internet that values
commenters as highly as we do on Dean's World. When you comment here,
you're not just a voice in the fog. Someone is actually READING YOU.
Not just playing referee in a food fight.

Which is why I say: any time you see a discussion on Dean's World that
you think is particularly good, please bring it to my attention and
I'll consider putting it in that archive. I try to keep up but I don't
always notice. If you see something really good in the comments, you
bring it to my attention and I will consider it.

Who is "you?" I mean whoever is reading this. Full stop.
