The Z Axis

The left-right political spectrum has never made sense. To the best of
my knowledge, [1]Jerry Pournelle was the first to propose that we have
two axes to measure politics, an X and a Y. It's a neat attempt, but
the funny part is that different people plot different things on the X
   and the Y.

Some have proposed that greater accuracy might be found with a third
axis, a 3-dimentional model and not just 2-dimensional. But I've never
heard of a good proposal for what the third axis would be. But Larry
Bernard makes the case that [2]information may be the long-sought Z
   axis.

   Hmmm.
